Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning in Neuroradiology: Current Applications
Danilo CaudoArtificial intelligence is rapidly expanding in all medical fields and especially in neuroimaging/neuroradiology (more than 5000 articles indexed on PubMed in 2021) however, few reviews summarize its clinical application in diagnosis and clinical management in patients with neurological diseases. Globally, neurological and mental disorders impact 1 in 3 people over their lifetime, so this technology could have a strong clinical impact on daily medical work. This review summarizes and describes the technical background of artificial intelligence and the main tools dedicated to neuroimaging and neuroradiology explaining its utility to improve neurological disease diagnosis and clinical management.
